Sharing the same first name may be a great conversation starter, but sharing more than two decades of procurement experience creates something far more valuable: a partnership that delivers real impact for procurement.
The Two Roberts
Robert Waalder, Founder and Managing Director of Sourcing Champions, established the company following his experience as Vice President of Procurement at Philips. He founded Sourcing Champions on the belief that procurement can be a powerful driver of competitive advantage.
“I founded Sourcing Champions with the ambition to make sure that procurement is top level everywhere.”
The Sourcing Champions team consists of experienced consultants and former procurement practitioners who believe strongly in the power of digital tools. That shared belief is where WTP Buynamics fits in.
WTP Buynamics was founded by Robert Driessen, who brings more than 20 years of procurement experience across four industries and several companies, including a role as Chief Procurement Officer. Through this hands-on experience, he repeatedly encountered a common challenge in supplier negotiations.
“I became frustrated by the fact that salespeople don’t like to share the details and calculations behind their pricing,” said Driessen.
That frustration led to the creation of WTP Buynamics: a SaaS platform developed by procurement professionals with real-world experience. The platform helps buyers and category managers build stronger negotiation strategies using factual, data-driven cost insights.
Why this partnership works?
The logic behind the collaboration is simple: when you own the data, you can negotiate in a much better way.
WTP Buynamics brings the data and makes it accessible through a single, powerful tool. As Robert Waalder puts it, “everything in one cool tool”. At the same time, Sourcing Champions, brings consulting and change management expertise, focusing on onboarding and support, the human side of transformation where they can genuinely do an excellent job.
In a nutshell, it’s a synergy where each side does what it does best.
More than margins
The long-term vision goes beyond quick wins. The goal is to create value together for clients. That’s not only about driving margin and cost down, but also about sustainability. Both companies want to be at the forefront of the most advanced, most digital way of doing procurement.
An open invitation
The message to the procurement world is an enthusiastic one. As Robert Waalder puts it: “come and see us, and understand what this solution can bring to you.”
